Even though you as a medical student spend a lot of time studying and on a work placement, you will still have time to enjoy the supportive community of students from all over the world. What really sets Worcester apart is the independent businesses in elegant locations that you won’t find in every city, from bars in 16th-century Tudor houses, to burger joints under railway arches, and riverside pub gardens. So, the River Severn – the longest river in the UK – passes the cathedral where the University of Worcester’s graduation ceremonies are held.

The University of Worcester is ideally placed for students to visit the rest of the UK. London is just over two hours away by direct train while Birmingham is 40 minutes away. If you want to explore the countryside the Malvern Mountains are 12 minutes away, and the hometown of Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon is just over an hour away. The beautiful Cotswold’s, the city of Oxford, and the Bisector Village shopping center are nearby. Worcester is a great place to play or watch sports! The town is home to the Worcester Warriors rugby club as well as the Worcester County Cricket Club. Whose New Road lands are widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the country. Also, University Arena Worcester Wolves basketball club game nights are a regular feature of the social calendar as well as fun.
